What is Sport & Exercise Psychology?

Sport and exercise psychology helps people perform and thrive in sport and physical activity. It builds practical mental skills to support confidence, focus, motivation and resilience whether you're at an elite level athlete or recreational exerciser.

What is a Sport & Exercise Psychologist in Training (SEPiT)?

A trainee is someone who has completed both an undergraduate and masters level degree in sport and exercise psychology and is now undertaking supervised professional training to obtain HCPC registration.

How can it help?

Sport and exercise psychology can
support individuals or teams to:

Build confidence

Improve focus and concentration

Manage pressure and expectations

Develop motivation and consistency

Cope with setbacks, injury and transition

Enhance communication and team dynamics

Support wellbeing and enjoyment in sport and/or exercise

SESSIONS & BOOKING

What happens in a first consultation?

A free initial consultation of up to 30 minutes gives you space to discuss your goals, ask questions and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.

Are sessions online or in person?

Sessions are available online and in person. The right format can be discussed during your initial consultation.

How long is a session?

Individual sessions are up to 55 minutes. Team and group workshops can be up to two hours.

What are the current fees?

A single session is £50. A six-session Performance Wellbeing Package is £250. Please get in touch for team or group workshop information.

Can parents, coaches and teams book sessions?

Yes. Support can be tailored for parents of athletes, coaches, teams and organisations to equip you with knowledge and strategies to support your athletes.

What is the difference between a SEPiT and an HCPC-registered sport psychologist?

A Sport & Exercise Psychologist in Training has completed undergraduate and master’s study in sport and exercise psychology and is undertaking supervised professional training towards HCPC registration. An HCPC-registered sport psychologist has completed that registration process.
